Marica Sapro-Ficovic
...more than just a place to stay in Old Town Dubrovnik...

DESCRIPTION

The house was always owned and inhabited by the same family. It was built anew, on the site of an old house, at the end of the 19th century by the great-grandfather of the present generation.

Following the tradition of the period and in order to accommodate different generations, the house was divided into three independent apartments. One of these, and the most prominent one, occupying a whole floor, is now Apartment Marica – your home away from home.  The apartment is spacious. Rooms have high ceilings and big windows, providing and airy feeling and lots of light. Since the house is on a slight elevation, a few steps up, the views are exceptional. See the pictures!

The whole apartment was recently renovated and modernized. The facilities are all new and sparkling. Apartment Marica is 105 square meters. There are four bedrooms:

  • two standard bedrooms (each 12 m2) with two beds, accommodating one or two persons each
  • two deluxe bedrooms (each 17 m2) with two beds and a sofa bed, accommodating up to three persons each
  • altogether, renting as the whole apartment, up to ten persons can be accommodated.

The facilities, yours to use, include:

  • two bathrooms
  • a fully equipped kitchen (refrigerator, stove, microwave oven, dishwasher, washing machine)
  • a dining room

Just below the house is restaurant Domino. They are good neighbors. Arrangements can be made with restaurant Domina for reservation and a special treatment, as guests of Apartment Marica.

Can you see the sea from your windows? No. But then you cannot see the sea from any house in the Old Town. It is a walled city, after all. But everything is very close. Going east or west on Stradun, the main Old City thoroughfare, you reach the edge of the sea and enjoy beautiful sea vistas in a few minutes. Or you can walk on the walls for unforgettable views, of both the city and the sea. You can go swimming  with the natives just below the majestic walls at Porporela, and Buza I and II, for those that like stone plates and rocks, or you can go to the city beach Banje, (near hotel Excelsior) for those that like pebble beaches (you can see this beach on the picture in the corner).

But you will enjoy the view from right where you are!
